How broadband light works
BBL delivers precise pulses of light into the skin, and the light works in two ways. First, it targets pigment and small blood vessels, the age spots, freckles, redness, and visible capillaries that build up over years outdoors. The body breaks those cells down and clears them. Second, the light's warmth reaches the collagen layer and prompts the skin's own repair response, which softens fine lines and improves tone over the weeks that follow.
The thinking matches the rest of the practice: Prompt the body's own repair, then let it work. Published research on long-term BBL use supports this, showing that patients who maintain regular treatments keep the look of their skin younger over time.

What a treatment is like
A clear gel goes on first, and the handpiece glides over the treatment area in pulses. Most patients describe each pulse as a quick snap on the skin that fades right away. The system cools the surface of the skin as it works, so no numbing is needed. A session takes about 20 to 30 minutes depending on the area, and your skin may feel warm for the first hour afterward.
Recovery and results
There is little to no downtime. Skin can feel like it has a mild sunburn for a day or two, and treated spots often darken before they flake away, which is the treatment working. Makeup can usually go back on within a day or two. The one requirement is sun protection: broad-spectrum SPF 50 and careful sun avoidance, especially for the first three days.
Skin looks more even within a week or two of the first session. Most patients complete a series of three treatments spaced about three weeks apart, then return for periodic maintenance to hold the result.

The fastest way to clear sun damage and age spots from the arms, legs, chest, and shoulders. Treated pigment darkens, then the body clears it over the following days. Most patients see the change within two to four weeks, and a typical plan takes two treatments.
